Track Bearings for Food Processing Equipment

Track-bearing selection guidance for food-processing and packaging equipment with cleaning, corrosion and lubricant restrictions.

Food-processing machinery adds environmental questions that may not exist in a dry factory application. the application guidance assigns EP-KR19 through EP-KR47 as the main screening range and highlights food-grade lubrication, corrosion-resistant material requests and easy cleaning. Those points should be treated as configuration requirements to confirm during the RFQ; the standard EP-KR / EP-KRV series name by itself does not prove a stainless-steel or food-grade specification.

Environment first, model second

Cleaning and washdown exposure

State whether the follower is in a dry zone, splash zone or routinely washed area, and identify cleaning chemicals if they can contact the component.

Food-grade lubricant requirement

If the machine specification requires a food-grade lubricant, include that requirement explicitly. Lubricant family and compatibility should be confirmed for the ordered configuration.

Corrosion-resistant material request

the application requirements notes stainless/corrosion-resistant needs in food machinery. Treat this as an option to confirm, not a default property of every EP-KR / EP-KRV model.

EP-KR / EP-KRV sizes to investigate

EP model D* (mm) Stud thread Speed reference Food-machinery screening note
EP-KR19 / EP-KRV19 19 M8×1.25 20,000 rpm Compact lower end of the application range.
EP-KR22 / EP-KRV22 22 M10×1.25 17,000 rpm Useful compact/mid reference for packaging or handling mechanisms.
EP-KR26 / EP-KRV26 26 M10×1.25 17,000 rpm Larger outer diameter while retaining the listed M10×1.25 thread.
EP-KR30 / EP-KRV30 30 M12×1.5 14,000 rpm Mid-range size for a larger mounting interface.
EP-KR35 / EP-KRV35 35 M16×1.5 10,000 rpm Larger stud and outer-ring envelope.
EP-KR40 / EP-KRV40 40 M18×1.5 8,500 rpm Upper-middle size in the food-processing range.
EP-KR47 / EP-KRV47 47 M20×1.5 7,000 rpm Upper end of the range defined in the application guidance.

What procurement and maintenance should specify

Machine zone and hygiene requirement

Tell us whether the component is near product contact, inside a guarded drive area or in a washdown zone. This prevents over- or under-specifying the environment.

Approved lubricant family

Provide the required lubricant designation or food-grade requirement when known. Do not rely on a generic “sealed bearing” description to satisfy a plant lubricant policy.

Exact interface dimensions

Measure D*, outer-ring width, stud thread and shoulder geometry. The environmental requirement does not remove the need for dimensional fit.

Cleaning-related failure clues

Report corrosion, grease washout, seal damage or a rough track surface. These observations help separate environmental problems from simple wear.

Food-machinery RFQ

Specify the environment with the bearing dimensions

Send the current model, quantity, D*, thread, machine zone, cleaning method, corrosion exposure and lubricant requirement. We will use EP-KR19 to EP-KR47 as the screening range and confirm any special material/lubricant request separately.
