Repeated positioning

Track alignment, stud seating and consistent contact influence repeatable motion. A replacement should be checked as part of the mechanism, not treated as an isolated rolling element.

Integration checks before a new build or retrofit

Envelope and mounting access

Confirm D*, outer-ring width, stud thread, stud length and wrench/tool access. Compact automation often fails on a small clearance detail rather than the nominal diameter.

Track alignment

A follower should meet the cam or guide surface evenly through the motion. Include a sketch of the track direction and follower orientation for a retrofit.

Existing reference and symptoms

For MRO work, send the old marking plus any noise, wear or looseness observed. That helps distinguish a simple dimensional replacement from a mechanism issue.

Cycle and application function

Describe whether the follower is used in transfer, indexing, guided motion, fixture actuation or robot-support motion, and include cycle rate or speed data where available.

Application boundary: a stud type track roller follows a cam or track surface; it is not a substitute for a recirculating linear guideway when the machine architecture requires a guided carriage on a rail. Choose the motion architecture first, then select the follower size within that system.
