Similar bearing-steel families, different designation systems

GCr15, 100Cr6 and SUJ2 are commonly encountered high-carbon chromium bearing-steel designations in Chinese, European and Japanese contexts. Their chemistry and standards are not literally the same document, so a procurement specification should state the required standard or approved equivalent rather than relying on a casual name substitution.

Why this matters in an RFQ

If material is contractually important, provide the material designation, applicable standard, heat-treatment or hardness requirement and any requested inspection document. Do not infer certification from a family name alone. For an existing machine, the physical bearing interface still needs to be checked separately from the material requirement.

EP-KR / EP-KRV product information uses GCr15 / SUJ2 terminology around the bearing family. When your project requires a specific national standard or certificate, state that in the enquiry so the ordered configuration and documentation can be confirmed before supply.
