Taiwan’s semiconductor, display, PCB and precision-machine-tool sectors use many compact motion mechanisms, but the bearing architecture varies from machine to machine. A cam follower, support roller and linear guide block are not interchangeable motion concepts, so the first RFQ question is always what surface the roller follows and how the stud is mounted.
High-value application areas in Taiwan
Semiconductor & panel equipment
Wafer, substrate and glass-handling mechanisms favor compact geometry, repeatability and careful lubricant discussion. EP-KR13 through EP-KR22 is the first size band to screen.
Precision machine tools & ATC
Automatic tool changers and cam mechanisms need a clear record of track geometry, stud support and position repeatability.
PCB production equipment
Drilling, exposure and transfer mechanisms may use compact rolling followers in dense assemblies. Measure clearance around the stud and outer ring before selecting a candidate.
3C electronics automation
Fast pick-and-place and transfer mechanisms often favor smaller EP-KR sizes where moving mass and packaging space are limited.
Two size bands appear repeatedly in Taiwan projects
| Application / buyer task | Useful starting range | Why this range is worth checking |
|---|---|---|
| Semiconductor / display handling | EP-KR13 / EP-KRV13 to EP-KR22 / EP-KRV22 | Compact 13–22 mm outer-diameter group for high-speed light mechanisms. |
| PCB / compact electronics automation | EP-KR13 to EP-KR35 | Practical small-to-mid-size screen where installation space and cycle rate are key. |
| Machine-tool / ATC mechanisms | EP-KR47 to EP-KR90 | Larger range to investigate when stiffness and radial-load demand increase. |
Do not confuse linear-guide and track-roller replacement
Many Taiwan motion systems use linear guideways alongside cam followers. The linear guide block carries guided translation along a profiled rail; the track roller follows a cam or track through its rotating outer ring. If the original machine includes both, send a photo showing where the requested part sits. That prevents a linear-guide reference from being treated as a cam-follower request.
Measure D, outer-ring width, stud thread and surrounding clearance. Compact mechanisms leave little room for an almost-correct substitute.
Provide the old IKO/other model and the original drawing if available. Use cross-reference data only to narrow the candidate range.
For semiconductor/display equipment, state lubricant restrictions, contamination sensitivity and whether sealed grease retention is required.
Include the original drawing regardless of whether annotations are English or Traditional Chinese; dimension callouts are more reliable than a translated series name.
Send a Taiwan track-bearing enquiry
Provide the existing marking, measured D* and stud thread, quantity, machine type and whether the part belongs to semiconductor, PCB, machine-tool or general automation equipment. A drawing is especially useful for retrofit work.
