German enquiries are often documentation-heavy because the same cam follower may sit inside a machine tool, packaging line, printing unit or automated production cell that already has a detailed drawing set. For EP-KR / EP-KRV selection, the most useful approach is to connect the bearing code to the track geometry, stud interface and service conditions shown on the machine drawing.
German machinery segments that commonly use track rollers
Machine tools & machining centers
Tool-change mechanisms, cam indexing and auxiliary motion systems can place high radial load and stiffness demands on the follower.
Packaging machinery
High-speed reciprocating cam systems make grease retention, repeated-cycle duty and impact at the track important selection questions.
Automotive production automation
Press-line guides, welding fixtures and assembly automation can use followers in repeated motion where mounting rigidity and maintenance access matter.
Printing machinery
Replacement work should include the original model, speed, lubricant condition and any evidence of ink or wash-fluid contamination.
Textile machinery
Long running hours and lint/dust exposure make sealing, relubrication access and track condition important.
Application-led starting ranges
| Application / buyer task | Useful starting range | Why this range is worth checking |
|---|---|---|
| Packaging machinery | EP-KR22 to EP-KR47 | Useful mid-size starting range for high-cycle cam mechanisms; confirm shock, speed and lubrication. |
| Printing machinery | EP-KR22 to EP-KR52 | Screen by speed, noise expectations, outer-ring contact and lubricant compatibility. |
| Textile machinery | EP-KR22 to EP-KR47 | Check dust protection, grease retention and continuous-duty temperature. |
| Machine tools / ATC | EP-KR47 to EP-KR90 | Start larger when static load, stiffness and repeated positioning dominate. |
Material and drawing terminology for German RFQs
EP-KR / EP-KRV product data identifies GCr15 bearing steel and a hardness reference of HRC60–62. German drawings may instead use European steel designations such as 100Cr6. Treat the grade name as a material-comparison point and confirm the exact ordered material/documentation requirement; do not assume that a naming similarity alone satisfies a customer material specification.
Send the original drawing, old bearing code and any customer-specific DIN/ISO notation that the replacement must satisfy. Standards should be confirmed against the actual ordered configuration.
Record the follower diameter, track width, edge radius/crowning requirement and stud support. A correct bearing code cannot compensate for an unsuitable track.
For FAG, INA, SKF, IKO or other legacy references, provide the original model plus measured dimensions. The EP cross-reference is dimension-led, not brand-name-led.
If the purchasing package requires RoHS, material declarations, inspection records or customer forms, list those documents in the RFQ so availability can be confirmed before order.
Commercial information that helps avoid rework
German buyers often specify delivery term, packing expectations and document set at the RFQ stage. Include the preferred Incoterm if you have one—such as EXW, FOB, CIP or DDP—together with destination, quantity and required paperwork. This keeps the technical comparison separate from assumptions about logistics.
Send a Germany track-bearing enquiry
Include the machine drawing or old bearing reference, measured interface dimensions, quantity, mechanism type and any documentation requirement. This gives purchasing and engineering teams a common basis for the comparison.
